FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’s)
How deep can I dive with the H2O Voyager 180 ° snorkel mask?
The H2O Voyager 180 ° is specifically designed for snorkeling, not free diving. Water pressure can build up in depths of 8-10 feet. Since there is no built in mechanism to equalize pressure, we strongly recommend not going any deeper than 8-10 feet. This is not a free diving mask.
Will it work if I have a beard?
As long as, you can get a tight seal. Usually 3 days of growth. We have heard of some man using Valvoline in their beards to tuck inside mask. But remember if you cannot get a tight seal because of beard, then water will leak into mask.
How do I choose the correct size for me?
Measure from the bridge of your nose to the bottom of your chin. If it’s more than 4.7″ (12 cm) order a L/XL, if it’s less order a S/M. Kids size 3.9 inches (3.9 cm)
Available in 3 sizes (XS for kids, S/M and L/XL)
What is difference between H2O Voyager 180 ° full face snorkel vs Traditional two piece?
The H2O Voyager full face design has many advantages over a traditional snorkeling mask.
- With our snorkel, you can breathe using both your nose and or mouth under water if your body is floating and Dry -Top breathing tip is above surface of water.
- No more putting a mouth piece into your mouth.
- A true 180 degree panoramic view .
- Drastically reduced fogging (compared to a normal snorkeling mask). * Good trick is to hold your breath for a 2 or 3 seconds while putting full mask on your face so you do not breathe onto viewing mask window and fog up.
- Dry Top technology stops water from entering the mask through the snorkel.
- Built in safety valves, in case of water seeping into the mask.
- It’s just much cooler!
Can you breath once you go below water surface?
No, the H2O Voyager 180° does not hold any air. The H2O Voyager 180° Dual Air Chambers are completely shut down as soon as the Dry-Top snorkel is submerged under water, the Dry -Top system activates and seals off any air or water from entering.
Does this mask keep out water if submerged?
Yes. First, the best trick is getting a great seal on your face and that will secure your waterproof seal. The snorkel has dry top so the plastic ball bearing pushes up valve which closes when you go underwater it does an amazing job at keeping water out of your full face mask.
What happens when you dive down with this mask? With regular mask and snorkel you just blow it out through the snorkel when you re-surface, same?
No not the same. There is a plastic ball bearing in this snorkel that gets pushed up and closes airways which stops water from coming into your snorkel. When you reach the surface, it clears and you can breathe again.
What is the small o ring and nut for that came with my mask?
It goes around the snorkel part. At the base of the actual snorkel that attaches to the mask, there is the rubber o ring. It’s there to provide a water tight seal for the snorkel to the mask. The one in the box is an extra one I think. Incase yours breaks or wears out later on.
How does the H2O Voyager 180° work?
This is a surface snorkeling mask. As long as the snorkel (Colored Dry-Top) is above water surface, breathing will be natural, as is on land. You need to take a deep breath before going under water. Depending on how long you can hold breathe, stay under water and start breathing normally once the snorkel is above water surface. As it has dry top technology, water does not leak when completely submerged. This mask is not meant for free diving, spearfishing or strenuous swimming.
How is the H2O Voyager 180° different from other full face masks on the market?
They are a few differences.
